Trying to lose weight or get ripped is a daily struggle. But when people commit to getting fit and healthy, the results can be staggering. In this video I wanted to talk about foods I keep in my diet to help my health! If there is anyone reading this trying to work more healthy foods into their diet, these five foods are for you. Also in this video I will discuss how you can gauge the source of the food you buy by looking at the route it takes from where the location of where it’s sourced, all the way to your dinner plate. The quality of the source is the underlying factor of all healthy dieting. Here are a few things I want you guys to know from the video:
TYPES OF FATS TALKED ABOUT:
1.) Unsaturated Fats – Fat molecules that possess 1 unsaturated carbon bond (double bond). MONO-unsatured fats are fatty acids that contain at least 1 double bond. POLY-unsaturated will always contain more than 1. These fats are typically liquid at room temperature and solid when chilled. Present in every food mentioned in the video.
2.) Saturated Fats – Chain of fats that possess no double bonds between carbon molecules because they are saturated with hydrogen molecules. Typically solid at room temperature. Present in a lot of red meats and dairy.
3.) Trans Fats – Artificial trans fatty acids that are created through an industrial process that adds hydrogen to liquid vegetable oils to make them more solid.
HERE’S A FAT TIP:
Trans fat can be hidden behind the name of “partially hydrogenated oils”. (OH THE FDA IS SO SNEAKY!) Always. Check. The ingredients. In your food.
Replace foods in your diet that are high in saturated and trans fats with foods made with healthy fats that possess health benefits, like:
1. EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
-Better for you than than refined olive oils.
-Fights inflammation (all of these foods will).
-Possesses vitamins + minerals for immune system.
-Quality source of omega-fatty acids.
-Strong source of monounsaturated fat.
2. EXTRA VIRGIN COCONUT OIL
-Better than refined coconut oils.
-Promotes hair, skin, health.
-Good to aid oral hygiene (oil pulling).
-Strong in monounsaturated fat.
-Contains lauric acid, which raises LDL & HDL (low and high density lipoproteins that carry cholesterol to and from the cell) cholesterol levels.
-Strong source of fiber, Vitamins C & K, and B6.
-High in potassium, lutein and folate.
-Half an avocado contains 15 grams of heart-healthy unsaturated fat, and only 2 grams saturated fat.
-One avocado contains more than 1/3 our daily requirement of vitamin C, and more than 1/2 the day’s requirements of vitamin K.
-1 Word: Guac
4. NUTS & SEEDS
-Strong source of monounsaturated fat.
-High in protein, fiber and antioxidants.
-Clutch source of protein for vegan/plant-based/vegetarian lifestyles.
-Clutch to boost your energy and effectiveness.
-Dense in calories.
5. WILD-CAUGHT SALMON
-Farmed salmon will be lighter in color (usually between light pink and
orange) with whiter stripes. (not saying you can’t eat farmed salmon but I’m just saying- i don’t feature farmed salmon in my diet)
-Wild-caught salmon is a much darker cut, much leaner cut, much cleaner cut, and the stripes are not as apparent.
-High source of polyunsaturated fat
-Solid source of protein and omega-fatty acids.
-Promotes a healthy brain (all of these foods containing healthy fats do, but W.C.S is among the strongest).
1 MORE FAT TIP:
Regardless of what method you use to cook your food, make sure you don’t OVERHEAT or OVERCOOK your food to the point where you cook away all the nutrients!

Walnuts are high in calories and contain protein. They also contain healthy fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Walnuts make you feel full. Eating walnuts regularly can also help to lower cholesterol and keep you healthy.
Not only does green tea help curb hunger, but studies have shown it helps lower bad LDL cholesterol levels. Green tea can be one of those “go-to” foods that help you lose weight in the middle of the day. Sure, it contains caffeine, but the caffeine in green tea has shown to not have as favorable results.
Greek yogurt is packed with protein so, you stay fuller longer and get all the benefits protein rich foods supply. Full of probiotics for better digestion and lower in sodium and carbohydrates unlike its regular yogurt cousin
Even just a small amount of cinnamon has shown to help regulate blood sugar levels, curb cravings, and boost metabolism, so sprinkle some in your morning coffee or smoothie for a little boost.
Adding chilli to meals can help speed up your metabolism too. Chillis are also packed with antioxidants and immune boosting vitamin C and beta-carotene.
Another one of the foods that help you lose weight is lean proteins. If you eat lean proteins like fish and poultry as part of a healthy diet with exercise, you can build more lean muscle. The more lean muscle you have the more calories you burn.

There are five great foods that help prevent cancer that you can start
adding in right away. The first one is antioxidant rich berries.
Blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, they’re
all little antioxidant rich nuggets. So start adding those in, especially
the organic versions. Those are the best ones.
Another group of foods that are great anti cancer foods are foods that are
rich in vitamin D. Vitamin D is really more of a hormone than a vitamin,
but it’s super important when it comes to boosting all of the anti cancer
fighting cells in your body.
So if you eat animal foods, you’ll definitely love wild salmon, which is
rich in vitamin D. But also, button mushrooms are the only vegetable that
will add vitamin D to your diet. And, you want to be sure that you’re
getting your vitamin sunshine. Sunshine is really the best, most effective
way to get vitamin D into your body.
Another great anti cancer food is tea. Green tea, black tea, white tea,
even decaffeinated tea has flavonoids in it. And flavonoids are wonderful
compounds that help your body fight against cancer cells.
Another cancer fighting food that you want to incorporate everyday is
cruciferous vegetables. Cruciferous is just a big fancy word for foods,
vegetables, that grow in a cross formation. That’s the crucifer. So, you
want to incorporate foods like broccoli, kale, cabbage, bok choy. All of
those are in the crucifer vegetable family. even brussel sprouts.
The most powerful cruciferous vegetable are, actually, broccoli sprouts.
So, you can start sprouting your own broccoli seeds at home and growing
them until they have two or three tiny leaves on them. Those, actually,
have more cancer fighting compounds in them than eating lots and lots of
cups of cooked or raw broccoli. So go ahead and find yourself some
broccoli sprouts and eating those everyday.
Now the last cancer fighting foods are cumin and turmeric. Now these foods
are, actually, wonderful anti inflammatory ingredients that you can that
you can start incorporating into your savory dishes. And, anti
inflammatory foods are really great in help your body to protect against
cancer. Any inflammation response you have will help cancer cells
proliferate and grow, so we want to keep you in an anti inflammatory state
